The Nova Awards

First presented in 1973, the Nova Awards are the UK’s only prizes for fanzines, fan writing and fan art. These coveted trophies are decided by the Novacon membership and presented on Sunday evening (just before we wander off to the beer tasting).

There are three awards: Best Fanzine, Best Fan Writer and Best Fan Artist. All members of Novacon who are active in fandom can vote.

For a fanzine to qualify, one or more issues must have been published between 1^st October 2005 and 30^th September 2006. For artists or writers to qualify, a piece of their work must have been published for the first time between those dates.

The Novas are awarded by informed vote, from informed fans. These are defined as Novacon members (or supporting members) who have received six or more different fanzines during the year. For the full rules follow the link in the novas menu.
